The PRISM Working Group is made up of content providers, content aggregators and software and services suppliers. The balance between software and service providers & diverse content owners ensures creation of the "right" specifications & support in the leading software tools — facilitating widespread adoption throughout the industry.

A member of the PRISM Working Group must be a member of IDEAlliance. As a member of IDEAlliance a company has access to many great programs, all of the other IDEAlliance Working Groups and Communities of Practice and discounts on IDEAlliance Conferences. • Influence over the specifications: During the development of specifications, members of the WG have the most influence over what is actually included. Non-members can submit requests and are often invited to meetings to present their needs, but only members can vote on a specification.
  
  
• Business justification and implementation assistance: While it is easy to submit questions to the WG a member receives more immediate assistance from both technical resources and peers.
  
  
• Business documents: For instance, all companies need to create business documents specifying requirements and justification prior to implementing any kind of enterprise content strategy. Although each company’s business is different input from peers and suppliers/customers is exceptionally useful.
  
  
• Implementation assistance: Members of the WG have easy access to shared best practices and explanations of the specifications due to weekly conference calls and scheduled meetings.
  
  
• Industry outreach: As a member of the WG, you can participate in meetings such as the recent executive round table where leaders of many companies came together to discuss the challenges and requirements of developing content strategies and implementing them.
  
  
• Industry networking: Since members come from multiple constituencies, they have many opportunities to further their businesses. Also, software and service suppliers gain insight into potential customers’ requirements and can form close relationships as everyone works together to achieve common goals.
  
  
• Opportunity to be featured in press releases and at conferences. Members of the Working Group have the opportunity to be quoted in press releases and to speak about PRISM at conferences and seminars.
  
  
• Industry summits and working meetings with members of other standards groups: From its inception, the PRISM WG has sought cooperation with other industry groups to leverage work that has already been done for the benefit of the whole industry. PRISM members were key participants in the recent News Standards Summit.

Since its establishment, the PRISM WG group has grown and diversified. At meetings you will see business and engineering representatives from software suppliers, content publishers and aggregators, application integrators and service providers - all working to provide a set of standards that will facilitate financial, management and productivity gains for both the members and the whole industry.
